Daryl Lee Millikan 1948 – 2012 Daryl Lee Millikan was born January 11th, 1948 in Vancouver, WA to Oliver and Novella Millikan. He attended grade school in Vancouver and graduated from Fort Vancouver High School. Throughout his childhood and young adult life Daryl was an active member of the Hillcrest Nazarene Church and choir. After managing the Prairie Market grocery store in Vancouver for several years Daryl relocated to the Southwest and made his home in Torrance, CA; Reno, NV; and various cities in the Phoenix, AZ area. He worked primarily in the wholesale grocery industry; some in retail. In Phoenix, he was employed by Fleming Foods, a wholesale grocery distributor for 14 years. He also worked at Montgomery Ward's and Wal-Mart. Daryl loved fishing, boating, skiing, car races, classic car shows, and family get-togethers. He always had music playing on the radio or could be found watching a 'western' on TV with the dog close by. Daryl passed away on February 21st, 2012 while visiting relatives in Vancouver, WA, at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include: Mary Walsh, former wife, Vancouver, WA; Mary Millikan (Moline), current wife, Apache Junction, AZ; son Darin & Melba Millikan, Spokane, WA; son Christopher Millikan & Esmeralda, Rochester, WA; stepdaughter Katrina Hanson, Gilbert, AZ; stepsons Andrew Kumm & Austin Kumm, Phoenix, AZ; brother Ronald Millikan, Vancouver, WA; grandchildren Gabriel & Makaylah Millikan, Rochester, WA; step-grandchildren Tatum & Riley Hanson, Gilbert, AZ; one niece, three great nieces, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Daryl will always be remembered for his big warm smile and his hearty laugh… A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, WA.
